Who is Mitch Miller? 

Mitch first noticed his love for speed and competition at the age of 29 while working on two of his friend's four-cylinder race cars as pit crew.  He turned wrenches for 3 years on various drivers' cars including Robbie Holmes (#97, 2003 Four-cylinder Track Champion, Winchester Speedway), Butch Mayo (#15m), and Paul Thornley (#79).  His willingness to help any driver in need has given him a great reputation at the track.

In 2006, Mitch started tossing around the idea of racing himself.  He finally got the money together to buy his first race car at the end of June.  He purchased a used 1999 GRT Late Model car from a gentleman in Rome , GA.   He drove 18 hours down to Georgia and back to Virginia in one day.  This explains the slogan “Spur of the Moment” on his spoiler.

Mitch's very first race was July 1, 2006 .  On his first night racing, the rookie driver received the Hard Charger Award.  This award is given to the car that moves forward the most during the race.  He started in 22nd place and finished in 13th place.

Mitch ran only six races for points at Winchester Speedway in 2006.  He finished the year in 27 h place amongst 39 other competitors. 

During 2007, Mitch started the year with a new scheme for the car that was revealed at the Winchester Speedway car show at the Harley-Davidson Dealership in March.

Mitch received his first top ten finish on May 6th finishing 6 th . 

Final points for 2007 showed Mitch finishing 23rd out 38 competitors in the semi-late division and 46 th out 69 competitors in the Late Models with only two races.

In 2008, the team had their ups and downs. Mitch finished 17th out of 39 competitors in semi-late division and 26th out of 55 competitors in late model division at the Winchester Speedway. He also finished 9th in points for the S.M.A.R.T. (Steel-block Mid Atlantic Racing Tour) series.

In 2009, the team only raced half the season due to motor troubles. Mitch ran only four late model races at Winchester Speedway finishing 19th in points. He also raced only two times with the Steel Block Bandits (www.steelblockbandits.com) Series and finished 14th in points.

For 2010, he will begin this season in a 2002 Viper chassis. He will be racing for points with the Steel Block Bandits series. They are expected to have 12 races next season. He will still consider Winchester Speedway his home track. He will also enter other races at tracks in VA, MD, WV, PA and NC to expand his racing experience. All of this is with one destination in mind…
